The Sycamore and Lacewood I've handled, even quartered, hasn't been super-resonant or very stiff. Pretty light, though... |

I've heard of lacewood tops, but have not heard how they worked. I would expect that they would need to be thinner because of the weight. I did one with a maple top one time, it hit the dumpster. Al |

I really like the look of some of the Lacewood I have seen, but not sure if I would try and use it for a top. Mike Whte Oak, Texas |
